hey, dust team. a team member of ours posted a news blurb about how openai is being ordered to maintain output logs, related to their court case against nytimes. this might mean (unsure) that openai outputs are required to be maintained, despite settings about record retention. does dust have a position on how this impacts dust users and if there are any steps we need to take to protect our data?
Hey Will, Thanks a lot for your message. Per our agreement with OpenAI, they canβt retain any data from Dust or our customers. They didnβt reach out to us to let us know this is now effective anymore. The May 27 hearing will further address these preservation issues and the allegations of evidence destruction. In the meantime, if you feel this is a sensitive topic for you and your company, you can use other models provided by Dust. We will let you know if we receive new information from OpenAI.
