Request to add file move and rename actions to Dust’s Google Drive integration for better automation

Hi 👋 It would be very useful if Dust agents could move and rename files in Google Drive. For example, I would like to use an agent to automatically organize and clean up my Drive based on defined rules. Dust can already create files and folders, so adding the ability to move and rename existing files would make this workflow much more powerful. Could you consider adding these actions to the Google Drive integration?

Hi Mike, I tested a possible workaround using the Dust Chrome Extension. Since the extension can interact with Google Drive through the browser UI, I was able to use it for actions like moving or renaming files. Dust Chrome Extension: chromewebstore.google.com/detail/dust/fnkfcndbgingjcbdhaofkcnhcjpljhdn?hl=en It may be worth trying while those actions aren’t available directly through the native Drive integration. I attached an example of the workflow I tested. I also think your request is a good product-feedback candidate because native move/rename actions would make this much cleaner.

Thanks Burak. I'll test it out directly. 🙏 That said, it would obviously be even better to have this natively in Dust itself rather than going through the Chrome Extension. Hope this makes it onto the roadmap!

michael.ludwig we've been asking for more serious Gdrive tools since about February this year. It's so annoying that agents can only copy documents, and can't delete or move them (although once an agent actually managed to delete a duplicate file for me then it lied about doing it and I never managed to get it to do it again). I have similar use cases like you, data cleanup, also I have services where data exports can only work by putting a csv in your Google drive root folder, nowhere else and I wanted to run an automation that would automatically pick them up and move them into a designated folder.
