Enhancing Dust: Improving Access Management for User Personalization
Hello! After a lot of intensive building and commercial exchanges about Dust, I believe a key missing piece that would make Dust an almost-perfect solution is the granularity of access management Right now, only the creation of spaces allow to create different layers of access management. Many client want user-granularity in their choice of platform. If Dust would allow for example for personal spaces, and to make ingested files available or not to sets of personal spaces, as well as allow agents to connect to their user's personal space, this would allow to make the knowledge from Data sources flow down to Dust users in a way that preserves the access management structure in the data sources 1:1. The client could ingest files and tag them so that files that user A can access in the CRM and in their document space, are made visible to the personal space of user A in the Dust too, and when user A uses an agent, it fetches from its personal space. This is a shortcoming often discussed with clients when discussing advanced use cases.
