Questions on Managing Dust User Connections and Service Accounts

·
·

Folks, on connection admin I can have one Dust user setting up a connection using some other account, a service account for example. I have some questions on how this plays out... 1. what happens if I disable a user on Dust that has connected resources (using a service account) do we loose the connection? do we need to reauthenticate? 2. what happens if i disable a user on Dust that has connected resources using his own account? same questions as above. 3. what would be your advice regarding connections? The documentation says it is better to have a service account for this but do we also need a dummy user on dust (for example having the service account being also a user in Dust) 4. how can I tell which account a connection is using? (I can see the dust user managing it but not the actual account)

    1. 1.

Nope, you'll keep the connection that's why we preconise this

    2. 2.

If your user loses access to the resource (for example you revoke his google account) then you'll lose connection

    3. 3.

The best way would be to have a dummy user on Dust yes. We're working on a way to make this dummy service user free

    4. 4.

Currently no easy way to tell unfortunately!
