Hello team, I hope you are great. Did any one manage to plug the Asana and Jira (not only issues) to Dust? Would love to hear your thoughts on how best to do this. Thanks
I was trying to add Asana's MCP server, but according to https://developers.asana.com/docs/integrating-with-asanas-mcp-server, they need to allowlist the redirect URI. They have a form to fill out to request a redirect URI to be allowlisted for an MCP client, but I'm not sure what to put here. Can somebody from Dust submit this request form?
For asana, i have created a workflow that downloads the project and put it in Json file and then i added it as a Knowledge Base. I didnt try mcp but i believe it cant be used as knowledge more like tools to séarch update etc. Happy to share the workflow but not so hard to develop
Moez GHANMI Thanks for sharing. By workflow, are you referring to an external script and process? Did you just extract the data and copy it to files or some other connection that Dust has access to? I did manage to try Asana with MCP via Pipedream (see https://mcp.pipedream.com/app/asana) instead of the official Asana MCP server. It worked well for one scenario I was trying to extract data and create tasks, put into sections, and add custom fields. Search would be possible too, but the RAG via MCP workflow might not be very comprehensive vs something that Dust would index.
Dust what should we tell Asana to allowlist as a redirectUri so the Asana MCP can be used in Dust?
Bumping the question above for team Dust: what redirectUri should we tell the Asana MCP to allow to work with Dust: https://dustcommunity.slack.com/archives/C06SHT0F20G/p1752181801311499?thread_ts=1752151806.278579&cid=C06SHT0F20G?
Hi everyone 👋 Apologies for missing the thread Moez GHANMI the JIRA tool is coming very soon! Currently being beta tested. Jon Wu MCP tools work differently compared to "connections", once a tool is connected to Dust through MCP, it doesn't mean that you'll be able to do native RAG with it. To do so, you'd need to "recreate" a connection -> Have a script that extract data from API and push in a Dust folder. Once the official tool implemented, you'll likely be on par in terms of tools with the pipedream one. In any case, I'll ping the team to see if they can whitelist get Dust whitelisted by Asana.
Remi thanks for taking a look. Would definitely love a native Asana knowledge integration for more complete search, or even a native Asana MCP for personal credentials, but otherwise I figured external MCP was better than nothing for now. Having Asana whitelist the Dust redirect would at least potentially give more functionality or less external dependency without Pipedream for now.
Remi any follow-ups on that one?
Remi were you able to look into this one?
