Resolving Gemini 2.5 Tool Errors and Strange Chat Behavior

I’m seeing some strange behavior this afternoon, not sure if its connected

some chats consistently showing this “tool use limit reached” error (using Gemini 2.5)
other chats are printing their “<tool_code>” into the output, and I no longer see the tool inspection button thats normally there
in these chats, Dust App calls don’t seem to be working even though the agent believes they have made them

How can I fix / recover from these errors? Thanks!
