This would allow you to quickly verify it the information in the answer provided by the bot is from the source or not.

Duly noted, we already provide footnotes that link to the actual document, does that not work for you?
When referencing documents or websites, only the name and link are provided, which is often insufficient for lengthy sources. It’s difficult to pinpoint the exact part of the source used, and the LLM’s rephrasing complicates searching for the original text. Access to the exact information sent to the LLM would help distinguish between source material and the LLM’s interpretation.
Overall, when using external sources (e.g., via RAG), it would be beneficial to see exactly what information has been collected.
