As far as I know, the Dust team hasn't implemented automatic switching between assistants. You can change assistants within the same thread, but it has to be done manually. I recall seeing a post in the "share-what-you-built" thread that featured an orchestrator assistant prompt. This prompt had different roles and could be adjusted slightly to select different assistants, but you still need to switch manually.
If the Dust team decides to implement a similar feature, the reasoning tool method could potentially be used to call other assistants, as it essentially involves reaching out to another LLM for assistance.
Using Dust apps might be another approach, but I haven't explored that deeply. You might need to use an external API for this option.
